I headed up to Skookum today to start on some chinking with Wylie and the pickup overheated so we didn’t make it. So I figured I’d put in updates from two previous trips that were the last of the “real winter” trips this year. Spring is in full swing and melting the snow rapidly!
I got Wylie some backcountry skis and he likes them much more than snowshoes. They also made the trip in much faster.
Morning business at Skookum after a snow is less pleasant than it used to be due to the broken roof panel on the outhouse.
My head had an encounter with a hammer because — as Wylie explained — I moved my head into his hammer. Oh well…
I now have two coats of polyurethane on the ceiling and support structure and it looks pretty dang good! Wylie and I also put up more Tongue & Groove, we put in more framing, and I’ve made a bit more progress on the wiring. It still looks like a construction project, but with the ceiling done its much easier to get going on lots of other things.
Another shot of the morning colors. Fantastic!
I was about half way to Skookum when I noticed the engine-light come on, so I pulled over. Antifreeze was gushing out and the engine was hot. That ended the chinking I was hoping to do with Wylie. I really hope there are no more glitches getting my new truck…
Looking good on those skis!
