The snow has largely disappeared, although it will be another couple weeks before I can drive all the way to the cabin. Progress has been slow, but there are no serious deadlines to worry about.
The tarped tractor has no snow around it (left photo), but there was still a big pile of snow on the north side of the cabin (right photo) on May 2.
Our goal was to finish up the corner where the shower is going to be so we can work on the plumbing. The above photos show the wiring for a light that will be over the shower (left) and the vapor barrier over the gable after additional insulation was installed (right).
The above video shows Wylie chinking the logs in the corner behind where the shower will be. This was our first attempt at chinking, so I thought it best to start with a corner that will be covered up.
Our first chinked corner. In addition to chinking between the logs, we filled in some of the cracks where flies can get into and breed.
Except for staining and putting polyurethane on the gable, and installing the light, all the work is done in the shower corner.
There was still about 2 feet of snow on the road in places (left photo) and a large tree fell down on the road (right photo), so it will be a while before I can drive to the cabin.
Picture of Wylie on our hike in, likely our last or close to it before the summer season hits.
