Disaster!

Much has happened, but the biggest event was we had a serious accident. Logan was badly cut and broke a bone in his finger, resulting in a trip to the emergency room. The accident occurred while trying to fabricate a wooden spoon with a circular saw, with assistance from Mark — everyone involved feels stupid and rightly so.

We also made some good progress. Tom came over from Nye and hauled the mixer/pump up to the site. We still don’t have gravel, but on Mark and Tom’s suggestion we have continued by using Quickcrete, which works fine for small jobs. We have poured the spring box slab. Mark has changed his ticket to stay longer to help finish up the spring box.

Getting the mixer/pump set up next to the spring box.

Later, we got the spring box base poured the old-fashioned way, mixing the concrete in the bucket of the tractor. This got us started, but we will want to use the mixer/pump for the larger pours.

Earlier, Wylie and Mark prepared the rebar for the slab.
